Quick summary: MacroForge is a fitness and nutrition tracking app. We collect only the data needed to make the app work for you. We don't sell your data. We don't show you ads. Your data is yours.

1. Who We Are

MacroForge ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is operated by Kologboh LLC, a limited liability company based in the United States. For any privacy-related questions, you can reach us at kologboh11@outlook.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to provide the MacroForge experience. The categories of information are:

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. We never see or store your password in plain text.

Profile and fitness data. Information you choose to enter, including your weight, goal weight, activity level, training phase (bulking, cutting, maintaining), and calculated macronutrient targets.

Food and workout logs. Meals, calories, macros, supplements, workouts, and other entries you log in the App.

Photos and images. When you use the AI Food Scan feature, photos of your meals are sent securely to OpenAI for nutritional analysis. We do not retain copies of your meal photos on our servers after the analysis is complete.

Barcode data. When you scan a product barcode, the barcode number is sent to the OpenFoodFacts public database to retrieve nutritional information. We do not store the barcode after the lookup.

Subscription and payment information. If you subscribe to MacroForge, your payment is processed by our payment partner (Stripe). We never see or store your full credit card details. We do receive limited information such as your subscription status, plan tier, and renewal date.

Device and usage data. Standard technical information such as device type, operating system version, app version, and crash reports. This helps us fix bugs and improve performance.

3. How We Use Your Information

To create and maintain your MacroForge account
To calculate your personalized macro targets and progress
To provide AI coaching and nutrition recommendations
To analyze food photos and look up barcodes
To process subscriptions and manage your access to Pro features
To respond to support requests and questions you send us
To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve the App

4. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited information with the following service providers strictly to operate the App:

Supabase — secure database and authentication hosting (your account, logs, and profile data)
OpenAI — AI processing for the Macro Coach chat and AI Food Scan feature (text prompts and meal photos)
Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions (handled entirely on Stripe's secure servers)
OpenFoodFacts — public food database queried via barcode (we send only the barcode number, never your identity)
Railway — backend server hosting
Apple and Google — app distribution platforms (App Store and Play Store)

Each of these providers has their own privacy practices. We choose partners that maintain industry-standard security and data protection.

5. Camera and Photo Permissions

MacroForge requests access to your device's camera and photo library only when you use the barcode scan or AI food scan features. Photos and barcode scans are processed for the sole purpose of identifying food items and their nutritional content. We do not access your camera or photo library at any other time, and we do not browse, store, or share your other photos.

6. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our active systems within 30 days. Backups are purged within 90 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data (such as bug reports and usage analytics) may be retained for product improvement purposes but cannot be used to identify you.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
Correct — update inaccurate information
Delete — request that we delete your account and personal data
Export — receive your data in a portable format
Withdraw consent — stop using the App at any time

8. Children's Privacy

MacroForge is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted password storage, and secure cloud infrastructure. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to keep your information safe and respond quickly to any incidents.

10. International Users

MacroForge is operated from the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated through the App or by email. Continued use of MacroForge after a change means you accept the updated policy.
